Dwane Drost
My name is Dwane Drost and I live in Durham Bridge NB, just 20 miles North of Fredericton and I am a happily married man with my wife Gail and three children Derek, Melissa and Amanda and 2 grandchildren Olivia Grace Drost and Strider Mathew Will Seeley. My faith and my family is my first love and passion followed by music. I am a Christian Country recording artists with 6 full length albums to my credit along with two single releases to Nashville.
My mother Shirley Drost taught me how to play the guitar when I was little and her whole family was very musical so I guess this is where the influence of music came from.
To date I have received letters of appreciation from former President of the USA President George Bush Sr. along with Prime Minister Stephan Harper of Canada and Prime Minister Tony Blair of England as well as Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II all thanking me for my song “Thank A Vet” which I wrote and recorded in 2003. It is a tributary
song for all Veterans worldwide who have fought for our freedom and those who paid the ultimate price so that we could be free.
It is my life long goal and dream to one day sing my special song “Thank A Vet” in Ottawa at the Remembrance Day Services at
Parliament Hill.
In Oct /2010 I was inducted into the NB
Country Music Hall of Fame.
In Sept/2012 I was inducted into the NB
Gospel Music Hall OF Fame
Also in Nov/2012 I was the
recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for my contributions
to community and recognition for my song “Thank a Vet” for which donations for
copies sold were donated to help Veterans and Legions in NB in their times of
financial difficulties.
I have performed all over NB and some parts of Nova Scotia and I play and sing
Country, Gospel and some old time Rock & Roll. I am presently in a 7 piece band
with some very talented friends called “Where Rivers Meet” but I also do my own
music at many functions such as seniors clubs, Church groups, Nursing homes and
Veterans Health Care Centers, funerals , weddings etc…..
My original songs are Country &
Gospel and easy listening tunes that seem to please many people in different
ways and I am so blessed by this. Also I am in the midst of releasing my first
book, which has been a long time coming.
I give all credit to my Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ for all and any Blessings that come as a result of the Blessed gift
HE has bestowed upon me in my musical and personal world.
