Lorrie Yerxa
I am Lorrie Yerxa and a member of the band 'Where Rivers Meet"
I am the drummer for “Rivers” and the newest member of the band. My wife, Carol and I reside at Lake George, NB.
It was about 1960, when I first picked up a pair of drum sticks. Within a short time, I had entered the rock and roll world. Since then, I have played in a variety of groups throughout New Brunswick, covering a number of genres that include blues, dixieland, country, gospel and, of course, rock and roll. It has been my good fortune to play with many wonderful musicians over the years, all with the unconditional support of my wife.
I first joined-up with Bobby Cleghorn, Bernie Clarkson and the late Billy
Lamey about 1972. We performed together as “Medicine Man” travelling extensively throughout
New Brunswick during the 70's and 80's.
Eventually, I took a hiatus from performing to start my own business,
re-uniting with Bobby, Bernie and Billy in 2004 to re-form Medicine Man. It was at this time too, that Jason
Cleghorn came on board.
With the passing of Billy, I retired from performing until December of
2011, when Bobby, Bernie and Jason “coerced” me into coming out of musical
retirement to join “Rivers”.
My return as a member of this band has re-ignited my deep and lifelong
passion for music, allowed me to re-join my dearest musical friends, make new
musical buddies and share “the music” with all the “Rivers” fans - OH!! ... and
did I mention the FUN ... WOW!!!
It is an honour to be part of “Where Rivers Meet”.
Thank you Carol, Bobby, Bernie, Jason, Jim, Rick, Dwane and all you
“Rivers” supporters
ROCK ON !!!!
